Expertise: Breast Enhancement
Breast enhancement may require augmentation, reduction or elevation of
the breast. Breast augmentation using implants enlarges the breasts by
one or more cup sizes. Small incisions for the placement of implants are
made under the breast (inframammary), in the areola (periareolar), in
the armpit (axillary), or the umbilicus. This procedure, which takes under
two hours, is performed in our office operating suite. Breast reduction,
male or female, requires the removal of tissue via incisions around the
areola and under the breast. A breast lift (Mastopexy) "lifts" breasts
and nipples by removing excess skin and repositioning remaining tissue
requiring incisions similar to those for a reduction. This procedure is
performed in our office operating suite.
