The Recovery Is Fairly Extensive<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just like with any surgical procedure, the recovery is a lot more grueling than the surgery itself. Once you are out of surgery, a small plastic drain will be used to help drain any excess fluid. For several days following surgery, your legs will be placed in a mild compressive wrap to help deal with swelling and to keep the implants in place. Calf Implants<\/a> are a good option for both men and women who have naturally small calves but would like a fuller, more sculpted look in this area. FDA approved, these silicone gel implants can also benefit patients who have congenital deformities or have experienced calf injuries.<\/p>\n

The implants are placed through a small incision behind the knee and beneath the fascia, which is a thick covering over the muscle. In many cases, two implants are placed in each leg to mimic the natural shape of the calf muscle. A small plastic drain may be used and will be in place for several days. The legs are then placed in a mildly compressive wrap for several days after surgery. Patients usually return to work in 7-10 days.
