Do you wish they were perkier like they used to be? Then a breast lift procedure might be just what you\u2019re looking for. A breast lift or mastopexy is a surgical procedure performed by a plastic surgeon to reshape and lift your breasts. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theartofplasticsurgery.com\/breast-procedures\/breast-lift\/\">Breast lift procedure<\/a>s are actually different than augmentation procedures but can be coupled together.<\/p>\n<h2>Who Is a Good Candidate for a Breast Lift?<\/h2>\n<p>You\u2019re a good candidate for a breast lift if your breasts are sagging either due to pregnancy and breastfeeding or weight loss. The effects of aging may also cause your breasts to droop.<\/p>\n<p>Breast lift procedures are not permanent and your results may change if you lose or gain weight as well as if you become pregnant. It\u2019s recommended to have a breast lift after pregnancy or breastfeeding to maintain your results.<\/p>\n<h2>What Happens During a Breast Lift Procedure?<\/h2>\n<p>The purpose of a breast lift procedure is to elevate the breasts by removing excess skin and moving the nipple and areolas to a higher position. Dr. Wiener can also reduce the size of the areola if you\u2019d like and pair the procedure with breast implants if you\u2019d like to increase your breast size. It\u2019s important to note that a breast lift on its own will not change the size of your breasts, only the shape, and position.<\/p>\n<p>During the procedure, Dr. Wiener can create a variety of incisions depending on the degree of the breast lift that\u2019s needed. For minor lifts, an incision is only done around the areola. In larger lifts, an incision may extend vertically down the lower half of the breasts. If you opt for implants, that may also minimize the length of the lift incision required.<\/p>\n<h2>What Is Recovery From a Breast Lift Like?<\/h2>\n<p>A breast lift recovery is not nearly as painful as an augmentation. That being said, you will still experience some swelling and soreness following the procedure. Follow your post-operation instructions carefully for the best healing results. Most patients can return to work within a week but more extensive procedures may need additional recovery time.
