Pretty African American woman has nice facial proportions after removing excess fat.A well-defined jawline and balanced cheek structure are often associated with youth, confidence, and attractiveness. If you struggle with stubborn fat deposits that blur facial contours, facial liposuction offers an effective solution.

In Chicago, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gregory Wiener and his experienced surgical team offer advanced facial liposuction techniques to refine features while maintaining a natural appearance. With decades of surgical expertise, Dr. Wiener has built a reputation for precision and artistry in facial and body contouring procedures.

Why Facial Liposuction?

While diet and exercise can help reduce overall body fat, facial fullness is often resistant to lifestyle changes. Genetics, aging, and weight fluctuations may contribute to stubborn fat beneath your chin, along your jawline, or in your lower cheeks. Facial liposuction targets these specific areas, removing excess fat cells permanently and creating sharper definition. Unlike non-surgical treatments, surgical liposuction enables immediate and predictable contouring that can be tailored to your unique anatomy.

Defining Your Jawline

A strong jawline frames your face, creating balance between your chin, neck, and cheeks. With precise liposuction techniques, Dr. Wiener’s team removes fat along your jaw and under your chin, reducing fullness and sculpting clean lines. This improved definition enhances your profile and can make your entire face appear slimmer. For men, the procedure often emphasizes a more angular, masculine look, while for women, it can create a delicate contour that complements softer features.

Refining Your Cheeks

Excess fat in your lower cheek area can lead to a rounded or heavy appearance. By carefully reducing volume, facial liposuction highlights the cheekbones and restores youthful definition. When performed with attention to proportion and symmetry, the result is subtle refinement rather than drastic change. Most likely, this adjustment brings out your natural bone structure and enhances harmony across your face.

Personalized Treatment and Lasting Results

Dr. Wiener and his team evaluate your skin elasticity, fat distribution, and overall facial balance to recommend the most suitable treatment for you. With proper care and stable weight, results are long-lasting, offering a renewed sense of confidence in one’s appearance.

If you’re seeking a sharper jawline or more defined cheeks, facial liposuction may be the right option. Contact 773-763-3990 to schedule your consultation.

LiposuctionLiposuction is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures around, but liposelection, or Lipo Vaser, is a relatively new and different procedure that offers an alternative to traditional liposuction. Read on to learn more about this revolutionary new procedure and why you should consider it if you’re thinking about getting liposuction.

Benefits

Liposelection uses ultrasound technology to reshape your body. It offers many benefits over traditional liposuction, including:

  • More tissue-selective, which means there is minimal damage to connective tissue
  • More fat can be removed, revealing smoother results and more contraction of the overlying skin
  • Less bruising and swelling
  • Faster recovery

How it works

Before the procedure, local anesthesia is commonly used, but sedation or general anesthesia may be added if treatment is more extensive. First, a solution is injected through tiny incisions in the skin to facilitate fat removal and minimize bruising. The ultrasonic treatment is done, and liquefied fat is removed.

Treatment areas

The most common treatment areas for liposelection include the abdomen, flanks, hips, thighs, back, knees, and ankles.

What is recovery like?

Liposelection patients can expect some swelling and mild bruising, but it’s much less than with traditional liposuction. You will need to wear a form-fitting surgical garment for several weeks to help minimize swelling and optimize your contour. You can use over-the-counter pain medications to treat any discomfort. You will want to walk as soon as you possibly can to help with recovery.

You can return to work within a week, depending on what areas were treated. Wait to resume strenuous activities until 4-6 weeks after treatment.

Candidates for liposelection

As with liposuction, liposelection candidates should be in good overall health and close to or at their ideal body weight. This procedure addresses stubborn fat that even the best diet and exercise programs can’t eliminate.

Liposelection can be done on its own or with other body-contouring procedures for more dramatic results. If you’re ready to learn more about liposuction and if you’re a candidate for this surgical procedure, schedule your consultation with Dr. Wiener by calling (773) 763-3990 today.

When men and women are interested in losing weight, they will often combine increased exercise with a more balanced, nutritional diet. However, there are specific areas of the body that are often difficult to address with diet and exercise alone. Stubborn fat deposits can remain on areas such as the stomach, upper arms, and thighs. In situations such as this, patients might reach their goal weight but be unhappy about their body contours due to excess fat. The best way to address this concern is with liposuction.

What is liposuction?

Dr. Gregory Wiener describes liposuction as the manual removal of unwanted fat from the body using a wand-like device called a canula. The cannula is inserted into the body at the area where treatment is desired, and moved around to suction out fat cells. The fat cells are collected in a canister. In some cases, patients use this removed fat to have it injected elsewhere into the face or body through a fat transfer.

What is the goal of liposuction?

Liposuction is sometimes believed to be a weight loss solution. However, this is definitely not the case! Liposuction is intended as a fat removal and body contouring option for patients who are within their ideal weight range but are unable to target specific areas of fat. When this happens, the manual removal through liposuction can address the problem. It can also be used to help patients see the results of their hard work at the gym and in the kitchen after losing significant amounts of weight and improving muscle mass and tone.

Where can liposuction be utilized?

Liposuction is best used on large areas where fat cells have collected. The more common areas include the upper arms, stomach, flanks, buttocks, and thighs. Patients must also take note that liposuction can leave behind sagging skin when large amounts of fat are removed, but surgical procedures can be performed to tighten these areas if needed. This option will be discussed with patients during their consultation appointment with Dr. Gregory Wiener.

Liposuction has been the go-to for years as an effective way to remove stubborn fat from nearly anywhere on the body. Liposelection, or Vaser Lipo, is a revolutionary new way to remove unwanted fat from the body and contour a slimmer figure. Read on to learn more about this treatment option.

How is Liposelection performed?

Liposuction is an outpatient surgical procedure that works by using a suction technique to remove unwanted fat from targeted areas on the body. During Liposelection, Dr. Wiener makes tiny incisions and injects a saline solution to numb the area and shrink blood vessels, which helps facilitate fat removal and minimizes bruising.

Through the incision, Dr. Wiener then inserts a very thin device that emits ultrasonic waves to break down targeted fat cells, turning them into liquid. The ultrasound energy doesn’t disturb nearby tissue, which makes this treatment different than traditional liposuction.

Once the fat cells have been liquified, they are removed using a small cannula. The incision is stitched closed and bandaged.

What areas can be treated with Liposelection?

The most common areas of treatment include the abdomen, flanks, back, hips, thighs, knees, ankles and neck. The type of anesthesia used will depend on the areas treated and extent of treatment.

Who are good candidates?

As with traditional liposuction, Liposelection is not a weight-loss procedure. Patients who are at or near their ideal body weight, in good general health and following a healthy lifestyle are good candidates for this procedure.

What should I expect from recovery?

Patients who undergo Liposelection can expect some degree of swelling and potentially mild bruising, but they will find the swelling and discomfort is much less than with traditional liposuction. Patients have to wear a form-fitting surgical garment for several weeks to minimize swelling and help with the contouring. You should be able to return to work within a week, but avoid strenuous activities for about 4-6 weeks after the procedure.

Liposelection is a common cosmetic surgery procedure that’s often combined with other body contouring procedures to give you the results you desire. To learn more about this technique and to see whether you’re a candidate, call (773) 763-3990 to schedule a consultation.

Liposuction Chicago ILIf you have just gotten liposuction from Dr. Gregory Wiener then you may have a love/hate relationship just thinking about Thanksgiving. Although Thanksgiving is a great time to gather together with family and friends, it also comes with more than enough calories to make you gain some weight back. Here at our office, Dr. Wiener encourages patients to make healthy choices after lipusction— including diet and exercise— to prevent against gaining the weight back. To help you make wise choices (even on Thanksgiving) Dr. Wiener has created a list of a few things you can add to your Thanksgiving menu.

Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are filled with vitamins and minerals which makes them an excellent choice to add to your Thanksgiving table. Traditionally, though, they are usually covered with a bunch of brown sugar, butter, or marshmallows which takes out the health benefits. Rather than creating one of these sugar and fat-filled casseroles this holiday, consider servicing roasted sweet potatoes drizzled with olive oil and salt instead.

Mashed Cauliflower

This may sound like a weird alternative to mashed potatoes but it’s definitely worth trying. Mashed cauliflower has a similar texture to traditional mashed potatoes and is even a little sweeter which makes it equally as tasty. Plus, cauliflower is a lot lower in calories and fat which make it a much healthier choice.

Cranberry Sauce

Rather than covering your turkey in gravy which is high in saturated fats, consider making your own cranberry sauce and using that instead. Cranberry sauce is a lot healthier than gravy and it will help you add a little bit of flavor to your plate.

Don’t let Thanksgiving be a day where you gain back your weight after liposuction. Use the tips in this article to help have a low-fat holiday. Ready to learn a little bit more about how you can maintain your liposuction results? Contact our Chicago office today and call us at (773) 763-3990.

LiposuctionThe term “liposuction” comes with a wealth of stigma associated with it. Not only do people assume that you have to be obese and oftentimes lazy in order to get liposuction, but many people think that it isn’t an effective method of getting rid of that stubborn fat. However, all of those stigmas are far from the truth. Not only is liposuction effective but it is actually designed to help people of a healthy weight lose that extra fat that is still lingering. Read on to learn more about the benefits of liposuction.

Hard Work Isn’t Paying Off

If you eat healthy and workout 5 times a week but you still can’t lose that extra fat around your middle or upper thighs, you are not alone. As one of the main benefits of liposuction, you can get rid of that stubborn fat in no time. Designed to help treat areas like the abdominal area, the upper arms and upper thighs, liposuction isn’t a tool used to help the obese. In fact, liposuction is ideal for individuals who are of a healthy weight who are working hard to lose fat, but their hard work doesn’t seem to be paying off.

Lasting Results

If you have heard that liposuction doesn’t work and that you’ll end up gaining the weight back in other areas, then look to the other factors that may be contributing to that. For instance, if you get liposuction and stop working out and start eating junk food, then you are bound to gain weight— that’s just science. However, if you continue to eat a healthy diet high in protein and low in fat, and work out on a consistent basis then you shouldn’t gain weight back at all! If you do start to gain weight or if your results aren’t lasting and you are living a healthy lifestyle, consider seeing your primary care physician in order to get things like your thyroid checked.

Just as with all things, there are stigmas surrounding liposuction. However, if deemed as an ideal candidate by Gregory Wiener and by putting some hard work into living a healthy lifestyle, liposuction is a great tool to help aid you in your weight loss journey. To learn more or to schedule an appointment, contact Gregory Wiener’s office today!
