What is an Arm Lift?

As one of the most important aspects of any surgical procedure, it’s important to know what to expect while recovering and how you can speed up the recovery process. Let’s take a closer look.

Avoid Heavy Lifting and Strenuous Activities

If you are a parent or grandparent to young kids that need to be held, ask for help during this time.  Heavy lifting of any kind— including of young children— can be harmful to your incisions. Try to avoid any strenuous activities or heavy lifting for about 4-6 weeks after surgery or until Dr. Gregory Wiener gives you the go ahead.

Take Time Off From Work

On average, patients can return back to work after about one full week of recovery. Because you won’t be able to move your arms very well during your first week of recovery and because you may be in some post-op pain, we encourage you to take off a full week from work.

Take Pain Medication

Depending on your health and the type of pain you are experiencing will determine what pain medications Dr. Gregory Wiener will recommend. Some pain medications can also help with swelling.
