Gynecomastia
Surgery
Gynecomastia:
Gynecomastia,
or male breast reduction, entails reduction of enlarged breasts in men.
The most common etiology of enlarged breasts in males is idiopathic gynecomastia,
which means that no associated causes have been identified for the breast
enlargement. Treatment is tailored to the specific needs of the patient
and may entail a combination of surgical removal of the breast tissue
and partial removal and sculptingof the accompanying fat. This procedure
is performed as an outpatient.
